Abstract

The present research project includes a larger one: LexTraJu - the lexicon for sworn translation, coordinated by Profa. Dr. Lidia Almeida Barros, from UNESP of São José do Rio Preto. Our research project continues our studies that began at the Master level and proposes the accomplishment of three main objectives: to elaborate a Portuguese-French bilingual glossary of terms in the domain of brazilian and french civil marriage certificates; and to study the most recurrent substantival terms in this domain in a diachronic perspective, relating this evolution to sociocultural and historical aspects of Brazil and France. Thus, we intend to contribute to the diachronic studies in terminology, still little explored in Brazil, as well as to extend the linguistic and cultural knowledge about this subject in portuguese and french. Also, we hope to help interested in the area of Law and translators through the portuguese-french bilingual glossary of the domain of civil marriage certificates. (AU)
