Abstract

The starting point of this research proposal is the cycle of struggles that begins in the Middle East and North Africa in 2011, expanding to the European countries and to North America. Two years later, in June 2013, Brazil starts to compose the cycle. Of course, each country has its own characteristics and motives that trigger the protests, but there are similarities among them: organizational structure, contestation of government policies, strategic and tactical use of digital social media and the subsequent developments of these. Our purpose is precisely to think about the structural composition of these protest movements in their digital interaction, through a reading that highlight the problem of identifications - element necessary for any and all grouping. We propose that psychoanalysis can be a theoretical tool to think about the structuration of these 'new' political groups - from Freud, Lacan and also through a reading of populism articulated by Ernesto Laclau. Furthermore, we will make our own considerations in order to advance in the articulation of the collectivism in psychoanalysis. (AU)
