The malfunctioning or the loss of total or partial functions of an organ or tissue, resulted from illness or traumas is, nowadays, one of the most important and caring problem on public health worldwide, affecting a great number of people. On many cases, the transplant of tissue from the patient himself (autologous), when possible, is preferable. However, many times new injuries are generated where the tissue was taken from making it, therefore, a not feasible practice. To help people who suffer from any of these limitations the recent medical advances associated with the growth on the lifetime expectation has made possible the development/improvement of biomaterials and technics of biofabrication that help the life quality of these people. This science and technological area is subject of international concern, being object of significant researches. Evaluating the global scenario on biomaterial researches, this project has the purpose to study and synthesize acid lactide bioabsorbable polymer, developed to perform as well as possible the function and the basic needs to be applied as biomaterial on the tissue engineering. Therefore, this project includes the PLLA processing which was synthetized at the Manufacturing Institute (Biofabris) during the thematic project (processo FAPESP #2008/57860-3), being now the main objective the analysis of the performance and in vivo viability, compare the biocompatibility between the PLLA synthetized and manufactured in scaffold form by biofabrication technics as eletrospinning, roto spinning, press machine and others. At this phase are involved teachers from the Medical Science University from UNICAMP, Biofabris's members and teacher responsible for the LABOATEM from the Medical Science University from UNR in Argentina.
