Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate a synthetic bone graft (BioGran®) in association with PTH 1-34 in bone repair in peri-implant defects in rats submitted to orchiectomy. 96 rats will be divided into 2 groups, SHAM = sham surgery; ORQ = bilateral orchiectomy, which will be subdivided into 3 groups: COAG (peri-implant defect without biomaterial), BG (defect that will use BioGran®), BG-PTH (defect that will use BioGran® + topical PTH). Each animal will receive two implants being one implant in each tibial metaphysis. Euthanasia will be performed at 72 or 90 days after implant placement. Will be performed the microtomographic (Micro-ct), Histometric by confocal laser microscopy, histologic and immunohistochemistry for immunostaining of proteins that characterize the bone remodeling process (will be evaluated OPG, osteocalcin, RANKL, TRAP) and the Wnt process. Quantitative data will be submitted to statistical test of normality and homogeneous variance being applied a parametric or nonparametric test.
