Abstract

This research proposes an analysis of the protected remains of the Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro (Jundiaí-SP) regarding the feasibility of uses consistent with the preservation of industrial heritage, considered the support infrastructure present in its surroundings. Currently the set is known as the FEPASA Complex and protected by IPHAN since 2001. Specifically, this study seeks to collect data on the current condition and conservation status of the protected assets (through a study on its tipping process), in order to compare existing conservation criteria; Verify current uses and their adequacy to existing guidelines for preserve heritage (from previously prepared records), in order to identify their adequacy to criteria set forth in international charters for preservation; To characterize existing preservation and urban policies regarding the complex and its surroundings, in order to present urban planning guidelines; Identify the services and equipment present in the environment of the set (from a GIS), with the purpose of inferring about its support to the current uses of the Complex; And finally, it is intended to raise the values assigned by the community to the protected set (from a semi-structured interview), in order to allow a re-evaluation of the current and potential uses from the mapping of the data collected previously. At the end of this project, we intend to arrive at a model of use allocation analysis that can be applied to industrial complexes, since the preservation of these sets is a common problem present in several municipalities.
