Abstract

This work aims at identifying and classifying locative verbs in Spanish. These verbs establish a locative relation between an object and a location and are very frequent in texts of different natures. Following the principals of Lexicon-Grammar, the locative verbal constructions will be described according to their syntactic-semantic properties. Locative verbs in Spanish will be contrasted with locative verbs in Portuguese, in order to determine the points of intersection and divergence between the two languages. We expect that this description may be useful to enhance the development of language resources, which could be used in several didactic applications and also in natural language processing. (AU)
