Abstract

To investigate whether, in practice, there is a similarity between the lighting design process and the architectural design process. Material and Method: bibliographical review to support the elaboration of the case study protocol; Carrying out case studies in which the unit of study are the design processes of Brazilian lighting designers. Results achieved: a bibliographic review and application of an electronic questionnaire as a pre-test for the case studies were carried out. From these two initial steps, the conceptual phase of the case studies and the production of scientific material for publication were developed. Expected results: to identify if there is a relationship between the literature raised about the design process in architecture and the practice of design practiced by specialists in the design of lighting. It is also hoped to contribute to the understanding of the methodology of case study in the understanding of the design process and the dynamics of the project offices. With these results, it is believed that it is possible to see the panorama of how some designers develop lighting projects in Brazil. (AU)
