Abstract

This research aims is to evaluate the performance under the Ergonomic approach of icons buildings of Brazilian modernist architecture, located in São Paulo, produced between 1930 and 1964 with commercial and services programs, namely: Banco Sul Americano building (now Banco Itaú ) (1966), at Avenida Paulista, designed by the architect Rino Levi; Conjunto Nacional Building (1963), also on the same avenue, designed by architect Daniel Libeskind; the Louveira building (1946) designed by Vilanova Artigas; the Italia building (1964), allocated in the center, designed by the architect Franz Heep. The research is part a FAPESP project (ref process 2014/15961-9.): The Thermal and luminous Performance in icons buildings of the Brazilian Modernist Architecture in São Paulo, produced between 1930 and 1964, under the responsibility of Prof. Dr. Joana Carla S. Gonçalves, and the project Performance under the Ergonomic approach of icons buildings of the Brazilian Modernist Architecture in São Paulo, produced between 1930 and 1964 (ref. Case 2015 / 4646-8) under the coordination of the guiding of this scientific initiative. In addition to understanding the interrelationships between the ergonomics with other areas of environmental comfort (lighting and thermal), the research aims to assist in the understanding of the overall performance of the buildings, not only assessing the adaptationsq seeking greater functionality that have occurred over the lifespan of buildings, both in physical space and environmental aspects, but also with the expectations of users as WORKING. The research method is experimental inductive with a field survey of physical and environmental variables. The results will be analyzed comparatively between experimental data of the buildings in their current layout and design. The results will be faced with ergonomic performance criteria, particularly those established in ISO 26800-2011 Ergonomics - General approach, principles and concepts, ASTM E 2350-2013 Standard Guide for Integration of Ergonomics/Human Factors into New Occupational Systems and NBR 9050: 2004. Accessibility to buildings, furniture, spaces and urban facilities. The method applied is based on the results achieved in previos researches, which had evaluated the performance under the ergonomic approach. As a result of performance evaluation, under ergonomic approach, will be formulated design recommendations for the contemporary architecture.
