Abstract

The proposal of this project is to develop and integrate a Webserver system into an educational robot, the Cozmo. Cozmo is a real-life robot, with a powerful technology and a personality, design to interact with people playing games, making sounds, expressing emotions on a LCD screen and many other pre-programmable functions. Also, Cozmo has an Artificial Intelligence system that allows the robot to learn new functions. The proposed project will use Android Operating System as a webserver to control the Cozmo robot using a computer from a web browser by giving commands to the robot. New functions will be given to the Cozmo robot: Use the robot's 30 fps VGA camera to recognize objects, faces and moods, and create new interactive games. To test and evaluate the proposed system, some applications are planned. The main planned application is the usage of the system to interact with a person using interactive games that includes voice communication and recognition of objects to decide what to do during the games. In addition, the Brazilian company of educational robotics PETE has already expressed interest in this project.
