Abstract

The aim in this study will be evaluate the influence of electrical current on depth of penetration of resinous infiltrant with bioactive particles. Eighty sound bovine permanent teeth will be cut to obtain enamel blocks (5 X 5 mm). The blocks will be demineralized to create caries-like enamel lesions (CLEL) that will be infiltrated by the following resinous materials: TEGDMA; TEGDMA+hydroxyapatite nanoparticles; TEGDMA+45S5 bioglass particles; ICON commercial infiltrant. The resinous infiltrant will be applied on the enamel with or without electrical current (40¼A) and 8 groups (n=10) will be formed. Confocal laser scanning microscopy and ImageJ software will be used to evaluate the penetration depth of resinous infiltrant into enamel. Data will be evaluated statistically with 5% significance level. (AU)
