Abstract

In situations in which the patients present absence of dental elements the rehabilitation is fundamental for aesthetic and functional restoration of the patients. In patients with partial edentulism different treatment options are performed, among them which we highlight the removable partial dentures retaining for dental implants. A consensus regarding this rehabilitative therapy regarding the implant survival rate, peri-implant bone stability, complication rate, quality of life and/or satisfaction is not observed in the literature. Thus, this project aimed to perform a systematic review with meta-analysis, in order to evaluate the mentioned parameters, verifying the possibility and influence of the association of removable partial dentures with osseointegrated implants. Two reviewers will be perform the search independently in three databases: Pubmed/MEDLINE, Scopus, The Cochrane Library with defined terms. After the selection and tabulation of the data, these will be organized to perform the meta-analysis using the software Reviewer Manager 5.4 (Review Manager - RevMan. Version 5.3 Copenhagen; The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, The Cochrane Collaboration, 2014). The quality of the articles included in the systematic review will be evaluated through scales determined according to the type of study evaluated. (AU)
