Abstract

It can be noticed the greater involvement in chronic non-communicable diseases and consequently the increase in the use of health services, which causes higher expenses for the public health system. The offering of preventive actions in health units in Primary Care can promote health and a healthier aging. With this, participation in these actions can have an economic impact on users and for the public health system. In this context, the objective of this study is to evaluate the relationship between preventive actions of Primary Care and the use of primary health care services. It is a cross-sectional, retrospective and documental analysis research, developed in the city of São Carlos, SP, analyzing data onto the use of health services between July 2015 and July 2016. All the users of the public health network in the municipality that participated in the preventive actions, paired with non-participants in the activities, will participate in the survey. In addition, analyzes of medical records and records of care in primary health care equipment will be performed. There will also be an analysis of the number of visits, reasons with seeking the service, examinations performed and prescription drugs. Descriptive and inter group analysis will be performed considering the value of p <0.05. It is expected to find that preventive actions are directly proportional to the use of health services, that is, the participants of the activities should have a greater link with the health units of Primary Care than the non-participants.
