Abstract

The search for less invasive and more efficient medical treatments moves the development of new technologies in the area not only of drugs, but also of materials. The use of polymers and nanoparticles, NPs, are promising in Biomedicine. Conducting polymers such as polypyrrole (PPy), polyaniline (PANI) and polythiophenes such as poly(3,4-ethyl-enedioxythiophene), PEDOT, are widely studied in the biomedical field, emphasizing their conductive properties in biosensors, drug delivery and engineering fabrics. The use of nanoparticles in medical treatments is being extensively studied. There are studies on the use of external stimuli for tissue regeneration, such as the use of near-infrared radiation, to intensify the effect of surface plasmon resonance. Considering the importance of the development of materials technology, this project intend to study the use of conductive polymers and nanoparticles as bioplatforms for cell growth, with the purpose of tissue regeneration. And the attention to the development of biocompatible polymers, in structures of the type breath-figures and core-shells with metals, like gold. (AU)
