Abstract

Relationships within Sapindaceae are still unclear (depending on molecular markers, different phylogenetic topologies may emerge). Thus, genome-wide analyses represent a promissing approach to: 1) understand these intricated relatioships at the genus level, 2) stablish genus- and (if appropriate) tribe-level circunscriptions for the family, and 3) investigate the evolution of major morphological characters within the family. Based on a worldwide sampling, this project will also make possible to understand the biogeographical patterns of the family. This project will use Oxford Nanopore and Illumina sequencing technologies for both de-novo assemblies (at the genus level) and mapping to reference genomes (species-level within each genus).
