Abstract

The main objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between the process of productive restructuring and illness at work in a textile garment factory in the city of Auriflama, in the interior of the State of São Paulo. In this sense, it is proposed to use semistructured interviews with sick workers as well as the collection of oral reports as research technique. The specific objectives are to analyze the nature of the process of productive restructuring in the local textile industry and its impact on the health of workers (physical and psychological illnesses), trying to observe how the disposition for occupational diseases is distributed in relation to gender.
