Abstract

Potato due to its nutritional characteristics is one of the most important vegetables in the diet of several countries and is considered the second largest source of nutrients for mankind. In Brazil, the main producing states are Minas Gerais, Paraná and São Paulo, however Brazilian potato productivity is still considered low due to diseases that affect the crop. Potato Scab caused by bacteria of the genus Streptomyces presents a widespread occurrence in the producing regions of Brazil, becoming a limiting factor in potato production in the country. The present project aims to investigate the antagonistic potential of commercially available isolates and products based on Trichoderma sp. in the control of Potato Scab in different potato cultivars through greenhouse and field experiments (in vivo); and to evaluate the effect of Bacillus subtilis on different cultivars of the tuber in the field. In addition, evaluations of the incidence and severity of Potato Scab, verification of growth promotion and resistance induction of potato plants will be carried out after use of biocontrol agents.
