Abstract

Recent studies regarding advanced music performance has turning themselves to cognitive processes involved in daily music practice. This activity doesn't concern just the time spent practicing, but its efficacy and the musician's ability in controlling personal, environmental and behavioral influences. This PhD work aims to investigate the metacognitive processes applied on the advanced guitar performance. Based on the Social-Cognitive Theory and the self-regulation construct, this research will work on bibliographical research, descriptive-correlational, focus group and two guitar recitals that will help to collect self-reflexive data, using autoethnography as a methodological resource.
