Abstract

Glass ionomer cement presents important properties for use as a temporary sealant material after endodontic treatment, however, there are few evidences that consolidate this indication. The objective of this work will be to evaluate the dimensional accuracy of temporary restorations used during endodontic treatment using a conventional glass ionomer cement (Ion Z - FGM), compared to two temporary restorative materials (Temporary Restorative- Villevie and Cimpat - Septodont). It will be used 45 crowns of molars made of acrylic resin with preparation for coronary access. The cavities will be restored with the different materials, constituting 3 experimental groups with n = 15: 1) Temporary Restorative -Villevie; 2) Cimpat - Septodont and 3) Ion Z - FGM glass ionomer cement. A volumetric dimensional alteration test using a Skyscan 1174 Bruker microscope (Kontich, Belgium) was used for immediate scanning after insertion of the materials after immersion in deionized water for a period of 7 days and 30 days and after thermal cycling. Subsequently the scans will be reconstructed using the software NRecon Bruker (Kontich, Belgium) and analyzed using CTan Bruker software (Kontich, Belgium).
