Abstract International evidence shows that interest in the subject of "Ethnic/Immigrant Entrepreneurship" is growing (Ma; Zhao; Wang & Lee, 2013), but in Brazil there is still a significant gap within the field, verified by the low number of references to theories of immigration focused on entrepreneurship (Cruz; Falcão & Barreto, 2017). The objective of this project is to analyze patterns of ethnic/immigrant entrepreneurship in Brazilian communities in Canada, specifically in Toronto, since in this city is the largest contingent of Brazilian immigrants in Canada (Sega, 2018). The research is based on the perspective of immigrants as entrepreneurs (Kerr & Kerr, 2016, Lo & Teixeira, 2015, Kloosterman & Rath 2003, 2001, Rath & Kloosterman, 2000), social identification with the ethnic community (Drori; Honig & Wright, 2009); the basic categories of ethnic entrepreneurship (Zhou, 2004), the theoretical approach of social, human, and economic capital (Achidi-Ndofor & Priem, 2011; Bourdieu, 1986), and the model of international migration observed in terms of economic forces, social networks, and human rights (Hollifield, 2005), as recommended by Sega (2018) when referring to its usefulness in analyzing the migratory flow, especially directed toward the city of Toronto. The research will take both a quantitative and qualitative approach. The primary data will be collected mainly through the application of questionnaires (surveys) and in-depth interviews. In the case of data originating from surveys, statistical procedures such as factor analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA, among others, will be used, and the processing of this data will be performed with the help of SPSS software. Regarding the qualitative data, we will perform an analysis of content that will be processed with the help of ATLAS.ti software. At the theoretical level, the intention is to contribute to theories regarding "ethnic/immigrant entrepreneurship"; at the practical level, the work aims to help immigrant entrepreneurs to understand the meanings and scope of the theme, thus facilitating more effective business management.
