Abstract

Paper is an inexpensive, affordable and disposable platform that has been used as a platform for chemical sensors in recent years; its use represents an alternative for conducting chemical analyzes in limited resources regions. One of the simplest ePAD (electrochemical Paper-based Analytical Devices) fabrication techniques that uses ready-to-use materials is pencil drawing, which consists of painting trails on paper with drawing pencils and it will be one of the proposed method that will be used in this project for the fabrication of the ePADs. In addition, it is intended to perform the treatment of these graphite surfaces with laser, in order to improve the electrochemical performance of the devices. Another approach to obtain ePADs with carbon materials is to explore the reduction of graphene oxide (GO). Thus, the objective is to obtain the rGO (reduced graphene oxide) using electrochemical techniques and by thermal reduction by laser on the paper surface and immobilize these materials at the paper surface in order to obtain the ePADs. The application of these ePADs fabricated by this project will be the detection of chemical species with clinical and environmental interest.
