Abstract

The necessity to quantify analytes of biological interest encouraged the search for development of devices called biosensors. These devices must be capable of converting biological signals into measurable electrical signals, keeping the sensor selectivity with the interest analyte. Preferably they must be biocompatible. Field effect transistors are solid state devices with potential use in biosensors. Aiming the biocompatibility, these transistors may have they structure changed, utilizing an organic semiconductor polymer instead of an inorganic semiconductor, making it an Organic Field Effect Transistor. These transistors can be modified through the externalization of their gate electrode, now submerged into an electrolyte solution. In this architecture, the interest analyte is recognized through immobilization of molecules in the polymer surface or in the gate electrode surface, making this last approach of great interest, resulting in a modular device to recognize analytes. This project has as main goal the fabrication of Electrolyte Gate Organic Field Effect Transistor, to use it as biosensor in analytes of interest, utilizing the polyaniline polymer as organic semiconductor.
