Abstract

The study to which the present research internship abroad (BEPE) project concerns intends to analyse cultural mediations in the context of social, especially the student ones, of radical left, also known as New Left, and their practices, connections and background to the reception of Latin American leftist ideas in the end of the 1960s and through the 1970s. A special focus is taken on the trajectory of French publisher François Maspero and German Trikont Publishing House for their roles on the printing and diffusion of political material from the Third World. To the accomplishment of our main goals, we look for working with publishing house's catalogues, other sorts of printings (such as periodicals and bulletins), biographical notes and interviews. With the main goal of understanding the character and intentions of those third-world ideology carrier agents, we undertake methodological appointments designed by History of Books, Publishing and Reading as well as those coming from Cultural Mediations. In this sense, the research internship abroad intends to bring off the collecting of sources, access to bibliographical material and the opportunity to join activities at Lateinamerika-Studien (LASt) at Hamburg University. All those tasks shall contribute to the success of our main goals, providing historiography a wider view of socalled 1968 movement and its followers from an original point of view, that is, the cultural mediators who receipted ideas from Latin America.
