Abstract

Tissue engineering provides a prospective new strategic by clinical applications to promote the regeneration of damaged or diseased tissues using biomaterials. In this work, a biocompatible polymer scaffold will be developed by solvent evaporation process. The scaffolds will be obtained under planar membrane mold and tubular prototypes. The project aims to obtain a device with antimicrobial, hemostatic properties and optimize aspects of flexibility. Therefore, morphological, physic-chemical, mechanical and biological properties will be characterized. The device is expected to exhibit distinct mechanical properties for suture fixation and application as vascular grafts.
