Abstract

Introduction: To achieve positive results in health in the prevention of recurrence of acute coronary events, it is necessary to implement secondary prevention programs aimed at educating patients and their families about lifestyle modification. In order for educational measures to be implemented, it is necessary to identify the needs information on cardiovascular disease in patients with coronary artery disease. Objectives: To validate messages to be sent to mobile phones for patients with coronary artery disease based on information needs. Methods: A two-stage study, the first phase of which consists of assessing the information needs about coronary artery disease, where it will be performed with patients admitted to the Cardiology units for the manifestation of coronary artery disease. Information needs will be identified through a validated information needs questionnaire. In phase 2, based on the main information needs, messages containing illustrations and texts will be elaborated to orientate the appropriate lifestyle, where they will be validated by content and face expertise. The sociodemographic and clinical variables of phase 1 will be analyzed in a descriptive way, through measures of central tendency and dispersion. The relationships between the information needs score and the sociodemographic data will be verified through association tests. In order to analyze the agreement between the experts and healthy individuals, the level of concordance ratio should be 80% (0.80) taking into account the 5% significance level adopted.
