Abstract

The CI research project will address the theme of initial teacher education on the subject of sexual violence against children and adolescents, which still affects significant portions of the child and adolescent population in Brazil. Considering the need for coping actions (prevention and sexual abuse in school settings and the professionals in dealing with this issue, we project. Our overall goal is to check the understanding that learners students and graduates of the undergraduate course, future educators the issue of sexual violence, more specifically on sexual abuse, in order to identify the gaps in their training and to propose initial training strategies that contemplate them. Will be participate in the study students entering and completing the Course of Pedagogy of UNESP. From a methodological point of view, we will use a questionnaire developed for this study, with alternatives of multiple choices, self-applied, whose questions address the issue at hand. Will be invited to participate in the research, all students entering the graduation course in 2019, morning and evening periods, as well as all the course finishers in the same year. The results will be tabulated in the SPSS software, and analyzed quantitatively through statistics and qualitatively. We believe that the results will help us in understanding the difficulties of future education professionals, in Pedagogy, to approach the theme in schools, as well as the initial training, in order to enable them to intervene in the prevention of sexual violence and referral of children exposed to such condition, with greater security and knowledge, being able to act as protective agents in their life.
