Abstract

In conjunction with the international interdisciplinary research group Children's and Juvenile Literature of the Iberian and Ibero-American Framework, coordinated by Professor Blanca-Ana Roig Rechou of Spain's University of Santiago de Compostela, this project will conduct a comparative analysis of literary adaptations of Miguel de Cervantes' classic Don Quixote de La Mancha for children and youth in Brazil and Galicia. The analysis will be grounded in the principles of discourse analysis and the cultural history of reading, and its initial stage will encompass the theoretical perspectives of comparative studies developed by the aforementioned research group and its coordinator and members.
