Abstract

The acquisition and development of narrative skills are influenced by both neurobiological, social and cultural factors. Over the years, several studies have been conducted with twins, because it is an interesting model for elucidating the neurobiological bases of language and its correlation with the environment. The present study aim to investigate the performance of pairs of monozygotic and dizygotic twins in comprehension and production tasks of oral narratives. The study proposes to explore which factors have the greatest influence on oral narrative; If it's genetic and environmental factor (MZ twins) or just the environmental factor (DZ twins). In favors of the genetic hypothesis, we expect to find similar performance between monozygotic twins, since they share the same genetic traits and environment (socio-cultural, academic and family). Participants will be, 30 individuals, 15 pairs of twins of both sexes with age ranging from 4 years to 15 years and 11 months. Oral narrative performance will be assessed with the second version of the "Test of3Narrative Language (TNL)", which was translated and adapted to Brazilian Portuguese. Data analysis will be proceeded comparing the performance on narrative scores (production and comprehension) between the pair of twins and also with bank data of children with typical language development. The data will be analyzed through descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.
