Abstract

This project aims at understanding the mobilities and transits that permeate the members of the recent LGBT + music scene in Brazil. In the first place, I intend to investigate how the artists of this scene contribute to the production of sexual subjectivities that both in and through popular music cross not only female and male corporalities, but also frontiers of class, race and geographical spaces. Within this question, the context of the growing conservatism that at the same time threatens and enhances the mobility of the scene in question is highlighted. What is more, I aim to analyze the role of the networks of musicians, listeners, followers in the internet, and other participants of the scene that make possible the musical and subjective production of LGBT + in terms of a collective action. In addition to studying the mobilities of and in the LGBT + music scene in the city of São Paulo, this research strives to integrate the mobilities found by Brazilian artists and members who navigate through the markets and artistic scenes in European capitals.
