Abstract

This study integrates the Memory Project, developed within the scope of the activities of the PCLA research group. The research aims to understand the way information is constructed in the midst of humanitarian crises, through the analysis of its News criteria, journalistic genres and mediatic agenda. The object of analysis of the study will be the scenario of confrontation carried out by Venezuelans and Brazilians, which occurred on August 18, 2018 (re)produced in a local vehicle, Folha de Boa Vista and a national, Folha de S. Paulo. Two preceding days will be analyzed, the day of the event and two subsequent days. Through a bibliographical and documentary review, based on content analysis, it will be sought to know how the two vehicles covered the news about violence in the Pacaraima region, highlighting the tensions between public space and human rights. Through an exploratory study will be possible to know the empirical object and to delimit the corpus of the research considering characteristics of the journalistic language when including aspects of the news content and the defined categories. The final result will be able to recognize the influence of the vehicles analyzed in the news structure on the society and its vision in relation to the humanitarian crises, as well as to be able to point out the news criteria used, identifying differences between the journalistic coverage in the local and national scope.
