Abstract

This scientific initiation project is linked to the thematic project (# 2017 / 2590-2) and also to the preliminary study linked to it, scheduled to take place from July / 2019 to August / 2020. The objective of this study and scholarship of Scientific Initiation (CI), which will be developed in collaboration with students from two high schools of Santos - Aristóteles Ferreira State Technical School and Bartolomeu de Gusmão State School - is to understand the meanings that the students attribute to social markers of sexual orientation, gender and gender identity in the experiences that take place in the school. The material produced from this studie will be an ethnographic interpreted with content analysis from the notions of social markers of difference and intersectionality. The specific contribution of this scientific initiation is to describe the youth cultural practices in the school territory and elements of gender and sexuality that constitute them. The scholarship holder will integrate the team form "Baixada Santista" of tematic project (# 2017 / 2590-2) and will do daily monitoring and data collection for the preliminary study in the both schools mentioned above. The ethnographic part of the research, about youth cultural practices, contribution of this CI, will be held at the Bartolomeu de Gusmão school. The activities of the scholarship holder will consist of: (1) follow up the consent process of the two mentioned schools that joined the USP High School Scientific Initiation Diversity Project (IC-EM-2019) and the IC-EM 2019-2020 of UNIFESP ; (2) collaborate in the organization of the training process related to training in methodology and ethics of the research of high school students referred to, then included, as fellows and IC-EM volunteers; 3) to carry out ethnography of the cultural practices of the Bartolomeu de Gusmão school, in collaboration with fellow students from IC-EM; (4) to collaborate in the application of the 1st part (socio-demographic) of the thematic research questionnaire executed by the IC-MS scholarship students to the universe of students of the two schools involved, at the moment, in the thematic study, as a preliminary step, focusing issues relating to the plurality and diversity of school youths that are embedded in specific territories; (5) to carry out 'pilot application' of the complete thematic research questionnaire with the IC-EM fellows; (6) prepare records of the research process and partial and final reports; (7) participate in formative / scientific events pertinent to the universe of the thematic study; (8) contribute to the elaboration of a scientific article of the research process.
