Abstract

Perovskite nanomaterials (PQDs) are a promising new platform for application in lighting devices, including lasers and LEDs. Particularly, perovskite nanoplatelets, PNPL, can be tuned to emit at wavelengths ranging from the ultraviolet to the red, with narrow bandwidth. In this project, the student will be trained on perovskite nanoplatelets synthesis and on their optical characterization. The candidate will synthesize, by chemical routines, CsPbX3 (X = Br, I ou Cl) perovskite nanoplatelets and measure their absorption and emission spectra, as well as, grow thin films to study their optical gain properties.
