The predatory power of leaf-cutting ants and their soil-transforming power have been known for centuries. The use of plants for ants control is well known to farmers and can be better exploited using knowledge of plant chemosystematic. Obtaining natural products from plants with potential insecticidal or fungicidal action on the leaf-cutting ants' nest, as well as those complexed with metals and nanoencapsulated, constitute the general objectives of the project. Participation in the execution of the project, through scientific initiation, also aims to contribute to its development and mainly to complete the training of the candidate for the scholarship. Specifically will be performed studies of complexation of flavonoid from orange residues with magnesium and copper, nanoenncapsulate extracts from "neen" and of extracts of marsh lily (Hedychium coronarium, Koen).
