Abstract

The interactions between land surface and atmosphere play an import role climate change processes and can in turn cause impacts on vegetation dynamics. The application of an ecosystem model is a useful way to understand ecosystem dynamics by the representation of the real system. The aim of this work is to test a benchmark framework that directly compares observational data to a process-based ecosystem model that simulate responses of land vegetation and ecosystem responses to climate variation and carbon dioxide concentrations, and to evaluate the model performance and behavior. The research project will be carried out at the Technical University of Munich, TUM School of Life Sciences. The result will be an improved understanding of ecosystem models especially dynamic global vegetation models. (AU)
