Abstract

The current project is a proposal for a six months research internship at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada in the Department of Contemporary Dance and two of its research centres - LePARC and SenseLab. This internship aims to compliment my current post-doctoral project in dance dramaturgy in both theoretical discussions and practical investigations. I propose to collaborate with both Professor Angélique Willkie (Department of Contemporary Dance), co-director of LePARC - Performing Arts Research Cluster and Professor Erin Manning (Department of Studio Arts) director of SenseLab Research Centre, two prominent scholars and practitioners who have been doing important research in dance dramaturgy and interdisciplinary collaborations in performing arts (the former) and in the field of art, philosophy, "research creation", experience and affect theory (the later). The advisors were chosen considering their extensive experience as scholars and artists within themes that are directly related to my current research in dance dramaturgy and affect. During the internship I will follow practical and theoretical activities of exploration of movement and affect in relation to dance dramaturgy, that respond to the embodied research practice and practice-as-research methodologies I have been applying in my current post-doctoral research. In addition, I propose to share my activities and productions with the local research groups, aiming to collect different perspectives over the work I have been developing, so they can reflect in my scientific and artistic production.
