Abstract

Objectives: i. estimate the psychometric properties of Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS) and Quality of Life Evaluation Scale (AUQEI) when applied to mother or 5-yerar-old children; ii. Estimate the well-being and the profile of oral health impat of mothers and children;iii. To verify the impact of mothers' oral health profile on clinical indicators and their children's oral health profile and iv. Estimate the impacto f oral health on well-being of mothers and children. Methods: This a cross-sectional study. Will be invited to participate in the study, mothers and 5-year-old children registered in municipal public education institutions in the county of Araraquara-SP. The minimum sample size should be 511 mothers/children. Will be used as measuring instruments the Questionnaire Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS) and the Quality of Life Evaluation Scale (AUQEI). Clinical examinations will be performed to verify the plaque index (IHO-S) and caries (ceod). The construct validity of the sample instruments will be estimated from the factorial, convergent and discriminant validity. Confirmatory strategy (AFC) will be used with robust estimation method Weighted Least Squares Mean and Variance Adjusted (WLSMV) and chi-square index by degrees of freedon (X2/gl), Comparative fit index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) and Root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA). Convergent validity will be evaluated from the Mean Extracted Variance (VEM) and the discriminant by correlational analysis. The factorial invariance of the adjusted models of each instrument will be tested for independent sample by multigroup analysis. The alpha ordinal coefficient (a) and Composite Reliability (CC) will be calculated. After adjusting the instruments to the data and survey of the clinical indicators will be made structural models aiming to answer the last two objectives of the stufy. The fit of the models will be evaluated by the indexes X2/gl, CFI, TFI e RMSEA. The significance of the hypothetical trajectories (B) of each independent variable will be estimated using the z-test and significance level of 5%. (AU)
