Abstract

This work consists on a PhD project developed from our master's research (process 2017 / 22169-8). Since 2017, we focus on the book L'herméneutique du Sujet (FOUCAULT, 2001), which is a result of the transcription of the courses given by Michel Foucault at the beginning of 1982 in the Collège de France. This book is our material scope. Previously, we investigated the notional set of conversion to the self (se convertere ad se) and its place in the question of subjectivity within Foucault's final thought. However, after our research at the Centre de Recherches Psychanalyse Médicine et Société - Université Paris VII granted by FAPESP (process 2018/23222-2), and after our qualification examination, we expanded our undertaking towards the construction of a thesis. Our hypothesis is that there is an unconscious dimension of the relation to the self (rapport à soi) and truth (discours vrai) as described in L'herméneutique du sujet from the core of the conversion to the self. In addition, we aligned an analysis of the historical modalities of "self-Other" relationship that are salient in this text, as well as their unfolding in the production of subjectivities. We focus more directly on psi techniques, since this field is peremptorily based on the dialogic function. Our current objectives are: a) to deepen the analysis of L'herméneutique du sujet from the conversion to the self, relating it to the concepts under which we construct our new hypotheses; b) investigate in detail their academic reception, especially in the field of psychoanalysis; and c) perform a re-reading of the work from this same reception.
