Abstract

Alternative economic practices are in evidence in the 21st century Brazilian context. In this sense, we verified the existence of economic bazaar in Araraquara/SP that reinforce the theme that we will highlight in the project. Thus, under the support of a municipal government elected in 2016 with the slogan "Solidary and Participatory City", it is necessary to build initiatives to understand the phenomenon of Solidarity and Creative Economy in the municipality of Araraquara/SP. For this, we use geography to provide theoretical and methodological framework of reference to the understanding of the problem. Specifically to the theory of economic circuits of Milton Santos (1979), which finds, in underdeveloped countries, the fragmentation of the urban economy in two circuits. Our proposal seeks to qualify these economic practices as representative of the lower circuit of the urban economy, which aims to provide occupation in the general circuits of value production. From this, by conducting an empirical research in the editions of the "Rolêfeira" and applying interviews and survey, we aim to observe the importance of these ventures as strategies for economic and social development, as well the expanded communication interface of the fundamental subjects of this phenomenon in partnership with the municipal government.
