The purpose of this research focus on the university culture that shows up in the geography course from FCT/UNESP, Presidente Prudente, particularly the youth experience in the first year of the course, specifically the ones who recently entered in the university or have been passing through the process of integration at the univerity, from life trajectories and with very diverse projects for the future. The main questions that guide the research are: Who are the young people who arrive in the course of geography of FCT/UNESP, and what were your previous experiences of youth and wich experiences are replaced when entering course? What would be the graduation in Geography of FCT/UNESP while socio-spatial and specific cultural context, that would make this singular experience of youth? How the students in their diversity articulate its specificity to experiences as students of geography? To answer these questions, we will follow an investigative route that articulates quantitative and qualitative strategies for the production of information. On the one hand, we will work both with secondary data from own UNESP, as with questionnaires applied to the universe of students research focus. On the other hand, we will conduct an ethnographic survey, with participant observation, questionaries and focal groups. With the survey, we hope to bring a contribution either to the field of studies of "Geography of Youth", as well as for the own course of geography, who may know other facets of student universe and then, rethinking pedagogical strategies and actions to expand the dialog with the students and combat the school evasion(so presente in the 1° grade of the graduation).
