Abstract

Since it is a highly versatile processing technique that can be applied to metals, ceramics and polymers, additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is rapidly gaining ground in dentistry. The objective of this work will be to evaluate the influence of the addition of functionalized nanostructures to the 3D printing resin composition on the physico chemical, mechanical and biological properties. Two commercially available resins will be used: Cosmos TEMP - YLLER BIOMATERIALS, Smart Print HYBRID - SMART DENT. TiO2 nanostructures will be functionalized using 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane silane (APTMS) or3-Trimethoxysilyl Propyl Methacrylate (TMSPM). The incorporation of TiO 2 nanostructures will be added to the resins by mechanical mixing, in mass ratios of 0.3 and 0.9%. The functionalized TiO 2 nanostructures will be characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The effectiveness of functionalization will be confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis. With the specimens divided into groups according to experimental groups, Knoop microhardness (before and after mass extraction with organic solvent), flexural strength and modulus of elasticity, solubility and sorption of water, and color stability. The biological response will be evaluated by the methods of cell viability, cell adhesion, cell scattering and expression of cellular collagen. The results will be analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey tests, if there is normality and homogeneity of variances, if no normal distribution is observed, the Kruskal-Wallis and Dunn tests will be used. The global significance level adopted will be 5%. (AU)
