Abstract This Scientific Initiation project is based on practice as research method and intent to investigate the movement dramaturgies. The poetic material to be explored empirically is the play "Sizwe Bansi is dead" (1972), written by the South African playwright, novelist, actor and director Athol Fugard. As practice, it aims to investigate some principles of contemporary dance, by trans- creating either issues and fragments of the play, concerning the director's perspective, that is to say, in the perspective of a scenic writing. Since the play deals with issues like race, racism and identity as opposed to apartheid, the research assumes also as a field of research, the Black artist's collectives of São Paulo and Campinas in their intersections with art and activism. | |
