Abstract The chemical biocompatibility of Ti alloys is essential since the release of metal ions from the implant can cause peri-implant inflammation, bone loss, negatively affect the mechanical properties and even its loss. The objective of the present study will be to compare in vitro the physical-chemical and mechanical properties between Ti-13Nb-13Zr and Ti-6Al-4V obtained by turning and additive manufacturing. For this, 40 discs will be used, with dimensions of Ø 5.0 mm x 1 mm thick (n = 10): G1: Ti-13Nb-13Zr (machined), G2: Ti-6Al-4V (machined), G3: Ti-13Nb-13Zr (additive manufacture) and G4: Ti-6Al-4V (additive manufacture). The disks will be analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dispersive energy spectroscopy (EDS), x-ray diffraction (DRX), wettability, free surface energy, surface roughness, by means of laser confocal microscopy, Vickers microhardness (Stiefelmayer microdurometer) and elasticity module (SONELASTIC®). The results obtained will be submitted to parametric or non-parametric tests according to the data distribution (± = 0.05). (AU) | |
