Abstract

This project started from the understanding that purposes of Information Science are based building actions that should diversify and fertilize, in a transversal and plural way, the production of knowledge. The objective of this research is to establish a diagnosis and define a set of minimum procedures and start a constitution of a terminological body that is open or discursive context of Decoloniality in Information Science, proposing an initial language structure that allows the identification, systematization and presentation the research in this field, mirrored or the result of this analysis in an analysis of knowledge on the subject, for which convergent and structured actions can be operational and move as a constituent in Latin America. The justifications for the use of S. Ranganathan's proposal, based in categorizing and analyzing Latin American decolonial content in Information Science, are that we understand that when we think about these categories (PMEST Personality/Matter/Energy/Space/Time) the Indian philosopher, who also takes the place of subordination in colonization processes, manages to visualize a possibility of organizing knowledge, reading the narratives produced by humanity, in a Universal way.
