Abstract

The socio-spatial differentiation in Brazilian cities has been deepening. It points to the constitution of the process of socio-spatial fragmentation. This proposal is part of a larger project (Thematic Project - Process 2018 / 07701-8) that aims to understand, at the city and urban network levels, how the fragmentary socio-spatial logic changes the content of differentiation and inequality, redefining the meanings of the right to the city. The focus of this proposal is on young people from poor peripheries in the city of Presidente Prudente, in their socio-spatial practices and collective actions in the urban space. Young people will be accessed from the school, in which we will identify those who participate in youth cultural collectives, who will be followed up in a more depth way. The objective is to identify youth groups and their role in the urban insertion of young people and theiractivism, as well as to know the knowledge that circulates in those groups and the relationships that young people establish between informal knowledge and those taught at school.
