Abstract

The student will study twistors in the context of four-dimensional super-Yang-Mills and AdS5xS5, and the motivation is to simplify the calculation of scattering amplitudesof the superstring in an AdS5xS5 background. Although many calculations have been performedusing twistors in super-Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions, almost no calculations have been performed using twistors in an AdS5xS5 background. A better understanding of the relationship between pure spinors in ten dimensions and twistors in four dimensions should help with these calculations, and the relationship is non-trivial because the twistors involve a mixture of pure spinors with the space-time variables of the superstring.
