Abstract

The studies will aim to establish the relationship between different dietary zinc levels and the efficiency of immune response against Haemonchus contortus infection in lambs. The postdoctoral will be involved in all activities of the experiment related to artificial infection of animals, determination of parasitic worm burden and immunological analyzes. Every two weeks, blood samples will be taken to determine antibody levels against Haemonchus contortus antigens. At the end of the study, the animals will be euthanized to determine the worm burden and to collect abomasum tissue and mucus samples, which will be subjected to immunological analysis. (AU)
