Abstract

The academic and industrial community have devoted many efforts to diagnose diseases quickly, easily and with a low cost. Within this framework, the biosensors have been extensively studied, since those are devices able to detect biological structure by changing their chemical and/or physical properties. In this Project, label-free biosensors based on graphene to detect cancer biomarkers will be fabricated. A technique using DVD-burner laser recently developed by Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group will be used to produce reduced-graphene oxide thin films on different flexible substrates. The solutions to detect biomarkers of pancreatic cancer (CA19-9) and prostate cancer (PCA3) will be prepared and deposited on devices with interdigitated electrodes and electrochemical sensor, thus producing label-free biosensors. The devices produced by this Project will be integrated with the thermoelectric generator that is under development in the post-doctorate project number 2019/26375-7, in order to fabricate an autonomous system. In addition, this Project will establish a collaboration between the Group of Polymers "Prof. Bernhard Gross" and the Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group, which will produce devices that fulfill the goals of the thematic project number 2018/22214-6, being one of the expected contributions of this Project.
