Abstract

Currently, the use of growth promoter antimicrobials (AGPs) is lower than in the past because they are one of the potential responsible for the occurrence of bacterial resistance. Since one of the hypotheses for the mechanism of action of AMDs is to decrease inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may be an excellent substitute. The present study aims to verify the performance and toxic effects of meloxicam (MLX) added to the broiler diet as an alternative to AGPs. (AU)
