Abstract

The performance of printed electronics applications depends fundamentally on printing good diodes that are considered the "quintessential" element of electronics. This project proposes to study a hybrid Schottky diode prepared by the spray deposition technique, with structure PEDOT:PSS/ZnO/AZO, in which gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are added to the ZnO film. The AC and DC characterization will be carried out, as well its performance as a visible and UV radiation sensor. The development of UV and visible radiation integrated sensors is an important issue to monitor people's exposure to solar radiation, the main cause of skin cancer. In this case, the monitoring of visible radiation is also important because it may relate to melanoma cancer, of lower incidence but higher lethality. The inclusion of AuNPs aims to improve the sensibility and broader the ZnO spectrum detecting toward visible. The AC and DC characterization will evaluate the performance of the diode by determining parameters such as the junction capacitance, series and parallel resistance, and the cut-off frequency. It is also expected the study of the conduction mechanisms in the semiconductor as a function of the polarization voltage, forward or reverse, and the study of the influence of the interfacial states, associated with O2 adsorption and desorption, using impedance measures as a function of AC frequency, in the dark and under a light with different wavelengths. In summary, it is proposed the study of a hybrid Schottky photodiode based on ZnO and PEDOT:PSS in which adds AuNPs, being the characterization addressed to its performance and its evaluation as a UV and visible radiation sensor.
