Abstract

This project envisions building a system of transient photon echo to measure the electronic dynamics in nanomaterials. The major advantage of this technique is that, unlike the measurements of transient absorption, there is not a significant background signal, which allows a cleaner measurement of the electronic dynamics. The student is going to set the experimental system and also simulate the predicted outcomes for the electronic dynamics in standard nanomaterials, such as CdSe quantum dots.(AU)
