Abstract

This project aims to carry out an in-depth bibliography with a view to a better theoretical understanding of the concepts of negative duty and positive duty of justice and the criterion of global justice formulated in the work World Poverty and Human Rights by Thomas Pogge. These concepts orbit the entire cosmopolitan proposal for the eradication of extreme poverty proposed in the author's work, object of study of the initial project "the eradication of extreme poverty through the reform of shared institutions proposed by Thomas Pogge". That said, it is proposed that the desired objective be developed with the guidance of the creator himself in his Yale University Global Justice Program - where these concepts were formulated and are often discussed. To justify the current project, a path is traced that begins with the presentation of the criterion of cosmopolitan justice and its evaluative function in the proposal for the reform of global institutions. Next, some contours will be presented regarding the negative duty of justice, which configures the active spirit of ethics that forms the reformist proposal. Finally, the moral problem and Pogge's criticism involving the positive duty of justice will be presented. (AU)
